FOODYCUBES - Founder Sally Bedford

Foodycubes was born due to my experiences as a Mum of 5 kids. Juggling different age groups and their needs as well as navigating the joys of fussy eaters, it was essential that I was able to manage my time effectively for the family.

My husband Steve and I needed a smarter solution to our limited freezer space. I found myself constantly rummaging through numerous plastic disposable containers to find a food my children may like as an alternative to what I'd already prepared! Most of the time it would be one child and they wouldn't require a large chinese style container worth so the remaining had to be tossed in the bin. So frustrating!!! Every time I threw the rest out, I would remind myself that I needed to buy smaller reusable containers, I usually forgot in my frantic world!!

One day, I started daydreaming about what the perfect freezer looked like!! It was neat and organised with small measured portions. I could stack the containers easily. They would be colour coded so I knew quickly that perhaps the red trays had Bolognese, the green had soup, the yellow had curries, the blue had portions of homemade sorbet for example. I would know the portion size because it was measured, I could release the frozen portion easily and retain the fresh food quality of the other portions until I needed them in the future. It seemed to make perfect sense to me, I knew if it was going to assist me then maybe it would be able to benefit other families. 

The beauty is that its so much more than just a freezer tray for families. It's absolutely perfect for people who are on a fitness kick and watching their portions or the single people who desperately want to cook up a big batch of Mum's Pumpkin Soup every Sunday but end up going with the instant soup option because it's just a waste to cook for one. Not anymore!!! Cook to your hearts content. Separate into the portions and eat when you are ready.

Meal prep for the week or weeks ahead. You have instant variety at your fingertips. Foodycubes comes complete with a latched lid. The last thing you need is a tray of stew being knocked as you put it in the freezer and it spills so I made sure Foodycubes had secure Spill Proof and Odour Proof lids to maintain fresh food quality at all times.
